I’m sure that a lot of you already know what I’m talking about, especially if you’re someone who plays mobile games regularly or is a fan of post-apocalyptic franchises. I’m talking about the latest outing by NetEase and ACE Studio, Fading City. This is one game that I have had my eye on for a long time now, especially since it seems so heavily inspired by older PC titles that have been very successful, while also creating a game that allows you to be free in the open world that it offers. It’s something that we don’t get to see on mobile very often and that is why the concept of the game appealed so much to me. Have you heard anything about this game before? And have you been able to get your hands on it?
If the answer to any of the above questions was positive, then you already know that the game holds a lot of promise and that there are a lot of expectations from the game studio to really deliver on the game at the time of its release. While I’m a big proponent of not expecting new games to really deliver on the promises that they make initially, the fact that a lot of the gameplay for Fading City has already been revealed, makes me a little more hopeful for the future of the game. The game is looking really good so far, and players who have played it have left generally glowing reviews. However, the game is not free to play for all. In fact, most people still cannot play it.
Now, you must be wondering how it is that people have managed to play the game. But before that, let us learn what Fading City is all about.
Fading City: About The Game
Fading City is an open-world survival game that is based in the post-apocalyptic city of Weidu and is based in a time when zombies have descended upon the earth, along with a weird blue fog that seems to be driving the change. Humanity is in shambles and the remnants of the past are just that and nothing more. In Weidu city, it’s every man for himself. But now with the zombie invasion, the people must come together to have a fighting chance against the apocalypse. The game is based on Unreal Engine 4 and offers impressive visuals and performance on mobile devices. I’m personally really impressed by the way that the developers have created the game and it makes me happy to say that there are no issues here.
The gameplay revolves around working as a part of a team against the zombie invasion to protect your home as well as the team. Your job is to collect equipment and resources to keep things going and to battle it out against the zombies till death. However, the open-world element really dominates here, which means you are free to roam around the city and discover new dungeons and treasures, but also encounter newer zombies in the process. It is being stated that the game is spread over a million square kilometers and is going to be really vast. You will also have the option to customize your stash and your inventory according to your needs and upgrade it on your demand.
All things considered, Fading City is a full-fledged game that aims to offer really good gameplay with a compelling setting that will make you feel like a part of the game. I’m personally really impressed by what is on offer here, and I’m sure that many of you will be too.

Fading City: Closed Beta
As I stated before, some players have already been able to get their hands on the game and have been able to play it. However, that is not the case for everyone. That is because the game is still in a closed beta where only a number of people have been given access to it. This means that the game is still under active development and there might be a lot of changes in the final release of the game. The game might also have a lot of bugs right now and that is something to be expected given that the finishing has not been done yet. However, things are still looking really good in the closed beta for the game and it makes me really hopeful for everything.
As for the release date for the game, we still do not have an update on that and I expect that the game will be released sometime in late 2022. However, this is just conjecture and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Fading City: Final Words
Fading City is turning out to be one of NetEase’s most anticipated titles yet, with zombie fans around the world cheering for the game. However, it remains to be seen how the game will perform outside of the beta and on a massive level. I’m hopeful that the game will be as good as we have experienced so far and that it will not disappoint.
