Similar to RPGs, where players assume the role of characters from many fictional worlds, the player is able to influence many of the character’s activities in a similar way. By the amount of people who may interact together and by the game’s persistent environment, MMORPGs are differentiated from single-player or small multi-player online RPGs. While the user is offline and away from the game, the world continues to live and grow.
In Final Fantasy XIV, players are able to interact with each other and the world around them in a persistent universe. To play the game, players may build and personalize their own characters, giving them unique characteristics such as a unique name, race, gender, and face attributes.
Disciples of the Hand and Land, which were formerly accessible as beginning classes, have been removed from the game’s first release. Characters must be created on a certain server, which players must choose.
In order to reduce the latency between the server and the player’s computer, data centers have been established in the supported areas (i.e. North America, Europe, Japan) and players are encouraged to choose a server in their location.
Regardless of server or language, the game has a big library of automatically translated game terminology and common words that enable players who speak various languages to interact with one other.
The original Final Fantasy XIV was a commercial and critical flop when it was launched in September 2010. Square Enix President Yoichi Wada responded by announcing a new team of developers, led by Yoshida, will take over and solve the problems with it.
For the first release, this team created fresh material and developed a new game that would answer all of the prior release’s complaints. While it was previously branded “Version 2.0,” the new game has been updated with a new gaming engine, more robust server architecture, and a more engaging plot.
Version 2.0 alpha testing began after the first version was shut down in November 2012.
The player’s character fights a masked individual in black robes with a light weapon (depending on their starting class). To Gridania, Ul’dah, or Limsa Lominsa the player dreams.
Louisoix’s last spell to save them from Carteneau’s annihilation appears in a forest as a pillar of light. The player character is likened to the famed Warriors of Light, brave adventurers who took part in the Battle of Carteneau but whose names have mysteriously gone from memory.
Unmasked individuals attack the player throughout these missions, and a Scions of the Seventh Dawn member claims to know their origin. He meets Minfilia, the secret society’s leader, who reveals that the player is Hydaelyn’s chosen representative.
The player joins Thancred in Thanalan to investigate abductions and crystal thefts. The criminals capture the adventurer to sacrifice him to Ifrit. The Echo protects the player from Ifrit.
Once defeated, the hero is hailed by messengers from all three Grand Companies. In each of the three locations, the player meets Alphinaud and Alisaie, Loiusoix’s twin granddaughters. To defend the woodland against Garlean intrusions, the adventurer must first make friends with the Black Shroud Sylphs.
Then there’s Lahabrea, an Ascian hell-bent on destroying the Mothercrystal. Thancred, in particular, determines to investigate. The Kobolds of La Noscea harvest crystals for their primal, Titan.
The mercenary gang that battled Titan and Leviathan in Sixth Astral Era sends the player to interview former members of the Company of Heroes. He reveals how to reach Titan’s domain: reverse the current in the beastmen’s teleportation crystals.
The hero’s victory against Titan is ephemeral. While the Scions were out, a Garlean army raided their Waking Sands headquarters, seized Minfilia, and murdered the others. A new primordial Garuda has been summoned by an Ixal clan, Alphinaud reports.
So he recruits amnesiac airship engineer Cid Garlond, now a cemetery worker. This time, the player is Alphinaud’s partner in hunting for the Enterprise. The Ishgardians now trust the adventurer enough to let him enter the dragon-infested Stone Vigil.
A Garlean engineer, Eorzean defector, and genius inventor, Cid recover his memories with the adventurer’s Echo. The Enterprise destroys the Ixali primordial who has been torturing Kobold and Amalj’aa prisoners of battle.
Reunited with Minfilia’s comrades, the heroes discover a few remaining Scions. But they also learn Lahabrea has taken Thancred. Minfilia and Alphinaud convince three Grand Company leaders to fight the XIV Legion. The Eorzean Alliance conducts Operation Archon, a massive counteroffensive against Gaius’ strongholds.

For Gaius, the player must lead an attacking army into his Praetorium fortress. With Hydaelyn’s light benediction, the adventurer defeats Lahabrea.
So they eject Lahabrea from Thancred’s body with a sword. Astral Era: The Grand Company announces the end of Garlean peril. Compared to the Warriors of Light.
