According to Zepp Health, the makers of the Amazfit series of wearables, a new timepiece dubbed the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini New Version will be available in early 2019. Amazfit is a well-known name in the wearables industry, offering a wide range of products from smartwatches to earphones to treadmills.
Prior to 2021, Zepp Health went under the name Huami. ZEPP, a California-based startup, was purchased by a Chinese manufacturer in 2018. As a result, it has undergone an unprecedented number of rebrandings since then.
Amazfit, the company’s smartwatch companion app, was renamed Zepp prior to the company’s name change. To replace Amazfit OS on its smartwatches, it unveiled a new operating system called Zepp in 2021.
Where To Buy: GTS 2 Mini
In the United States, the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini smartwatch is now available via Amazon and the Amazfit US site. There are more than 70 built-in sports modes for individuals who lead an active lifestyle, and it costs $99.99 USD.
The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini comes in black, pink, and green, and the display boasts a borderless design to keep the wristwatch looking good.
It has a 24-hour heart rate monitor, sleep quality monitor, female cycle tracking tool, stress-measurement function, and a SpO2 (blood oxygen) level monitor to help users keep a close eye on their own health and well-being.
All the health-related data may be deciphered by Huami’s PAI system, which provides an overall assessment of the user’s health. Due to the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini’s 14-day battery life and other standard features like its 5-meter depth resistance and smartphone synchronization, users won’t have to worry about constantly charging their wristwatch.
The 1.55-inch AMOLED display of the GTS 2 Mini fitness watch can be customized with over 50 different watch faces. With a 12-month warranty and a 30-day return policy, the watch may be returned for a full refund.
Connectivity: GTS 2 Mini
Huami is compatible with both Alexa and its accompanying carrying case. In all, there are eight Amazfit GT models: four square-shaped (GTR) and four circular (GTR) (GTS).
The square-shaped GTR 2 tiny is the tiniest of the bunch, with a 1.55-inch display.
Except for the Amazfit GTR 2, which comes in a steel casing as part of the Classic edition, others feature an aluminum body.
An ambient light sensor in the AMOLED controls its brightness. Huami, on the other hand, does not use a coating or tempered glass to protect the display glass, which is rounded toward the edges, as in most other models.
NFC, GPS, and a barometer sensor are not included on the smallest square-shaped Amazfit Watch.
Although it features a microphone that can speak with Amazon’s speech assistant Alexa, it does not have the ability to make calls.
Huami’s BioTracker 2 sensor now detects blood oxygen saturation in addition to heart rate.
GTS 2 Mini in Comparison to GTS 2
For those looking for a smaller version of Amazfit’s top square smartwatch, the GTS 2 Mini is the answer.
Despite the fact that Huami has reduced the price of the square watch to $99.99 / £79 (approximately AU$130) making it a more reasonable alternative that does compromise certain smartwatch and design aspects, it still manages to preserve a lot of the features that there are to appreciate with the Amazfit GTS 2.
In spite of the 40mm case size reduction, the same titanium alloy and the plastic case material are still used, albeit there is a greater amount of plastic on display today.
Despite a reduction in resolution, the 1.55-inch AMOLED screen still provides a bright, colorful spot to check your fitness data and other services, like as the weather.
Setup And Use: GTS 2 Mini
Amazfit GTS 2 small needs the Zepp app from Google Play or Apple App Store to be set up.
The app needs registration or login. Despite repeated efforts, we couldn’t install the required update on the iPhone.
The wristwatch has a touchscreen and a side button that when touched twice activates a previously specified app. The gadget also controls the music player and the smartphone’s camera.
Fitness & Health
This app also connects to WeChat, Relive, Strava, Apple Health, and Google Fit as necessary. The smartphone dashboard displays the day’s statistics.
Detailed views of step count, heart rate, calories burnt, and stress effects enable long-term comparisons. One of our Amazfit GTS 2e reviews shows how two wearables from the same manufacturer may provide quite different outcomes.
Also, the watch indicates your daily standing goal, steps, and active minutes. This also applies to heart rate and heart rate variability, which illustrate how stress affects physical health.
According to the PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) health assessment methodology, Huami develops an index based on the aggregated health data.
Sleep Tagging
In addition to recording sleep and waking periods, the fitness tracker also records power naps of 20 minutes or longer. Huami mixes sleep phases and heart rate data in the Zepp app’s chart.
Saturation of Blood and Heart Rate
In this study, we compare the findings of a medically certified pulse oximeter to the results of our own heart rate and blood. A 2 percent average variance in oxygen saturation isn’t extraordinary, but it’s rare.
Histologically, there were up to 8 bpm variations.
Tracking Your Workout
An automated break detection shortened the exercise length to 2 hours from 3 hours between the start and finish. Instead of on-screen heart rate and pulse zone readings, the Amazfit GTS 2 tiny displays them in the app’s record.
When exercising, the tiny version is ideal since you may personalize the data fields shown.
The Amazfit GTS 2e doesn’t allow it.
GPS
Routes with an altitude profile may be exported with the Amazfit GTS 2 small app. Amazfit GTS 2 small GPX track compared to Garmin Venue 2s GPX track via Google Maps.
