Jungle Cruise, the newest movie starring Dwayne Johnson, A K A the Rock, is absolutely smashing it at the box office. The new film has apparently surpassed every other film out there and earned in excess of 91 million US Dollars on the opening weekend itself. This is big news, especially for fans of the movie, and those who have been waiting for it. And today, we also have the breakdown for the money figures for the movie. It seems that the movie has been doing particularly well in Northern America, judging by the figures for United States of America and Canada.
More than a third of the total earnings of Jungle Cruise came from the Box office in the USA and Canada itself. That is huge, considering the amount of people that must have gone out to watch the film on the opening weekend. Another 30 million US Dollars came in from subscriptions to Disney+ in the US and the remaining came from the rest of the world. This shows the heavy influence of USA on the total figures for the movie. Nevertheless, Jungle Cruise remains the box office blockbuster this week, surpassing every other movie.
Conclusion for Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise is actually doing amazingly well if it comes to the projected figures for the movie. The total figure predicted was less than what the movie really raked in over the weekend. And it is surely a celebratory moment over at the studios. We can foresee that the movie is going to do equally well over the coming weeks, so it will be interesting to see how it performs. Although Jungle Cruise is not without its competition. Another huge title that saw the light of the day this weekend was The Suicide Squad. With its limited release, The Suicide Squad didn’t earn nearly as much as Jungle Cruise, but it surpassed it in markets where both the films were released. So that is quite interesting to us.
Whatever the fate of the movie might be in the future, it is clearly visible that it is smashing the box office for now. So we are really looking forward to seeing it on the big screen. It is going to be really good, judging by the sales figures. And we’re also really excited about the Suicide Squad, and are going to talk about it soon enough.
