Midnight in the Switchgrass: MGK Tweets

There’s a lot of controversy around the new movie Midnight in the Switchgrass. And we’re not talking about just one thing. It seems that the controversial news keeps rolling in. First it was about the poster, and now it is about MGK himself. For those who don’t know, Machine Gun Kelly is the actor in Midnight in the Switchgrass, and also a famous rapper. In fact, this is not the first time the rapper has indulged in controversy. His days of controversy go way back, and he has been in the news before for the same. So I guess it should not come as a surprise that he is up to something again. This time, it’s calling out his own movie for not being good, and berating it.

Midnight in the Switchgrass: The Controversy

The controversy is just unreal. Midnight in the Switchgrass is Kelly’s own film in which he is starring along Megan Fox and Bruce Willis. It is based on the true story of a serial killer called the “Truck Stop Killer” and is directed by Randall Emmett. And it is during the production of this film only that Megan Fox and him met and began their own journey together. So it is all pretty complicated that way. In fact, Megan Fox and Kelly didn’t even attend the premiere of their own movie. That says something about their thoughts on it.

The controversy comes in the form of a recent tweet by Machine Gun Kelly. He apparently tweeted, “if i don’t talk or tweet about a movie i’m barely in it’s because it’s trash.” And this was obviously sure to stir a ton of controversy. And it has been getting a lot of responses, of all types really. Emile Hirsch just went on to Instagram to disagree with the star. She posted a picture of the tweet Kelly made and quoted, “We definitely disagree here, Colson! Nothing but respect to you guys though – especially because you and Megan are so f#*king great in this movie.” Randall Emmett also went on to agree with her statement, and so did the other cast in the movie.

It is really a disrespectful move on MGK’s part and fans are surely going to be disappointed with this news. That being said, the artist has certainly carved out a career for himself, and we wish him the best of luck for his future endeavours.
