Before big smartphones came out in the market, gaming used to be the stuff of consoles and PCs that you could honestly never expect anywhere else. All the developers around the world developed games for the PC as well as for Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox consoles but no one ever really thought that they would end up serving a big community of people around the world who would soon come to appreciate the power of smartphones and demand legitimate titles that can be played on a smartphone.
It seems that developers are finally listening in to what the people actually want and have hence come up with Mighty Doom, a Doom title that has been made exclusively for the mobile community around the world. Doesn’t that sound so wholesome? Coming from a developer that creates hardcore games like Doom, Mighty Doom is a big step forward for the company in terms of the mobile space as they seek to expand their player base to not only those who own expensive consoles or computers, but to those who simply own a smartphone and would like to step into the world of gaming.
I personally feel that it has the potential to be a big leap forward for the franchise as a whole as more and more people will discover the original legend of a game after playing Mighty Doom. This is just a good thing for gaming in general and leads us to a more inclusive community of gamers. Now that we have talked about what Mighty Doom is, let us talk in a little more detail about the game.
Mighty Doom: About The Game
When we talk about Mighty Doom, we have to talk about the Doom franchise in general. Doom was a game that changed it all when it first came out. A first-person shooter at its core, Doom paved the way for multiple other first-person shooters down the road. It was an iconic game that has held its title as one of the most definitive shooters for decades and has resulted in multiple games down the road that were just loved by people for their portrayal of a shooter that was set in Hell.
The game was simply really ahead of its time, even in terms of the technology that is used, and hence went on to become an icon that will always be treasured as one of the cornerstones of modern First-Person Shooters. Now, Mighty Doom is a new mobile game that is supposed to be operated using a single touch interface that is supposed to take the Doom franchise in a new direction with the inclusion of mobile-based games.
The game takes a really simple yet effective interface where the player is given control of the player’s movement and can make decisions to take down the monsters from Hell in the most brutal manner possible. The game itself is really fun because it is so simple and the real fun is taking down those monsters without any despair or second thought. I’m personally a huge fan of the franchise, and this is one of the things about it that appeals to me the most, so it is nice to see it here.
However, after a certain point in time, you will feel that the game gets a little repetitive and there isn’t really much left to innovate on as the room themselves are too quite limited in their layouts and the way that you can fight the monsters. Nevertheless, it makes for a thrilling experience even with its limitations, so it can be overlooked for a while, if not completely dismissed.

Mighty Doom: The Verdict
Coming to the verdict for the game, it is tough to say much about Mighty Doom. While it is a game that definitely holds true to the promises of its franchise, it is also one that strays from it the most in terms of what it offers and is quite limited in its scope. However, being a step in the smartphone industry, maybe that is something that can be overlooked. If all other factors are kept aside, Mighty Doom, by itself, is one of the best shooter games on mobile that you can play right now. So I would give it a good recommendation from my side.
However, if I was you, I would wait for the official release of the game as it is still in early access and riddled with bugs. I would advise you to wait it out for a while and play the game when it officially gets released.
