What is There in Move to Heaven For You?

Those who have lost a loved one may be all too familiar with the unbearable anguish that arrives just after all the formalities have been completed. What is There in Move to Heaven

Han Geu-ru, 20, is joined by his estranged ne’er-do-well uncle Sang-gu as a member of the Move to Heaven firm after his father’s tragic death. As they clean up their rooms together, they learn about the lives of the recently departed, and in the process, they try to grasp their tangled stories.

The couple proves to be the least compatible for the task. While Han Geu-ru, who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, struggles to comprehend the world around him, Sang-gu is a slacker ex-con who moonlights as an underground MMA fighter; one craves order, while the other despises it. This combination alone raises the stakes and adds dramatic tension to the entire series with ease. Will they be able to work together in the future, or will everything drive them apart?

Each episode is sure to bring a few (if not a bucket) tears to your eyes. Tang Jun-sang (Geu-ru) and Lee Je-hoon star in this slice-of-life drama, which shines in sincere narrative and outstanding performances (Sang-gu). The first half of the show is procedural, allowing viewers to get to know the key characters via their trauma cleanup, however the second half focuses on their own shadowy pasts. Episode 5, in which they clean up after a young doctor who was slain in the emergency room, is particularly noteworthy. They come find posters for classical music events, an unopened love note, and tickets for the next day’s performance.
