Power Book 2: Ghost is the first offshoot in the Power world. Just after one season, fans are already crazy behind the show. The Starz drama series revolves around Tariq St. Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr.) who is trying to find a balance between his college life and a burgeoning drug dealer in the aftermath of his father James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s (Omari Hardwick) death and his mother, Tasha St. Patrick’s (Naturi Naughton) imprisonment.
In season 1 of the series, Tariq began trading drugs with the aim to increase the capital to get best defence attorney possible for his mother. This enforced him to join hands with Monet Tejada (played by Mary J. Blige) while making loads of new enemies. In Season 2 we’ll see things getting even tenser for Tariq.
In fact, Power Book 2: Ghost viewers are convinced a villain from Power is about to make his appearance on the offshoot.
Power Book Season 2 Introduces a New Villain
Now that Tariq is well with Monet and the Tejada crime family, he has some safeguarding. However, since he’s killed his college adviser, Jabari Reynolds (played by Justin Marcel McManus), we’re certain things are about to get even more backbreaking for him.
The second season, Power Book Season 2: Ghost is also set to introduce Daniel Sunjata as the devilish Mecca which will indisputably become a problem for both Tariq and Monet.
“He is calculated, manipulative, and dangerous,” Deadline reports. “Mecca conveniently reemerges in New York at the exact moment the Tejadas need to fill the void of a new product supplier. But when his mysterious past starts to become exposed, it reveals the drug business might not be his only end game with this family.”
Cristobal Will Return
With the inspection behind Jabari’s death and the appearance of Mecca, Tariq surely doesn’t need any more problems popping up. However, things are going to get even stickier since viewers are convinced a villain from the original Power is set to be introduced on Ghost.
Matt Cedeño portrayed rival drug dealer Cristobal from Seasons 2 to 5 of Power who regularly bumped heads with Tommy and Ghost. The star cast list for Season 2 of Power Book 2: Ghost seems to disclose that Cedeño is set to renew his role in the offshoot.
YouTuber MarcDarkTV recollects fans that we are set to witness some known faces from the PowerWorld when Power Books 2: Ghost renews for Season 2. Return of Cristobal’s actually makes a lot of sense. As we know, the Hermanos Tainos captain has some inomplete business with 2-Bit (played by Michael J. Ferguson), who is blackmailing Tariq currently.

Power Book 2: Ghost Release
If things were demanding for Tariq in season 1 of Ghost, Season 2 is taking things up a notch.
“Well, one thing I think I can say (in) season two, Tariq’s class, the Canonical Studies class, moves into an ethics unit,” Power creator Courtney A. Kemp told Deadline via Express. “So, next year, we will be exploring ethics, and I will leave it at that.”
Kemp also added that further hints might be included in episode titles. “We may or may not be titling them in that way,” she explained. “I think it might be more about an ethical dilemma. For example, you know, is there such a thing as real greater good, right? Is there a greater good?”
Season 2 of Power Book 2: Ghost is currently filming in New York City, but an official release date has not yet been announced yet.
When asked about new season, Johnson had no clue when they might be aired. “I feel like our schedule has just completely shifted because of COVID,” he said. “So, I don’t know. I don’t know.”
